Round 1: From the start, Pyfer combines with a low kick then a left which hits the Swede. On the other hand, ‘Bodybagz’ sends another big combination on Jack Hermansson. With his right, Joe Pyfer shakes ‘The Joker’ again… The American remains very threatening with his firepower.
Round 2: Joe Pyfer looks for the hard blow and aims for the KO. He throws many hooks but Hermansson holds on.
Round 3: Quickly, Jack Hermansson takes the center of the cage and tries to put pressure on ‘Bodybagz’. The Swede repels all opposing attacks and in turn shakes the American. On a foot-to-fist sequence, he manhandles him. Pyfer appears touched and vulnerable. In striking, the 11th in the category regains the upper hand. But on a left, Joe Pyfer reverses the trend again and starts again. The end of the round is extremely open, with two athletes going blow for blow.
Round 4: Embarrassed, the American tries to fight, but ‘The Joker’ pushes back. Standing, Hermansson insists with his jabs and low kicks, and forces Joe Pyfer to come up against the cage. The Swede sets his pace and dictates the fight against a very physically challenged opponent.
Round 5: The Scandinavian veteran validates a perfect takedown on Joe Pyfer in the middle of the Octagon. On his back and tired, the American suffered the ground & pound from Jack Hermansson. In a preferential position, ‘The Joker’ accelerates as much as possible to score points and influence the judges.
In the end, Jack Hermansson won by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) against Joe Pyfer.
After more than a year without fighting, the Scandinavian relaunches in this middleweight division, and manages to maintain his 11th place. Thus, Hermansson improves his record to 24-8 in professional MMA. ‘The Joker’ then called out the Frenchman Nassourdine Imavov, winner of Roman Dolidze last week… To be continued.
