Jon Jones could have appeared on the UFC 300 card on April 13. But the American will not be there.
Very recently, Dana White explained that he had two fights left (including the main event) to announce for the long-awaited UFC 300. And Jon Jones could have headlined the April 13 event… Except that ‘Bones’ refused the UFC’s proposal, and explained himself on the microphone of the media Submission Radio.
In this interview, the former UFC light heavyweight champion details the reasons for his refusal: “I received a call from Hunter Campbell, one of the chief lawyers of the UFC. He asked me, “Jon, it’s only 9 weeks… But is there any chance you’re ready?” This would be great news for the community. You are returning to headline one of the biggest events of all time.” Honored by this offer, I don’t think I’ll be ready, so no. At my age, I don’t have many big events ahead of me. And I want to give everything in these meetings. So I want to make sure I’m 100% for my return.”
Jon Jones reveals that he was offered by the UFC to headline UFC 300 two days ago, but had to decline as he wouldn't have been ready in time.

He himself does not know the exact date of his return. But it looks like Jones will return this year. Also in this interview, he again assured that he would fight Stipe Miocic as soon as possible.
Jon Jones is slowly coming back from his major injury last fall, which prevented him from defending his heavyweight title against Miocic. A few days ago, ‘Bones’ was spotted tackling a rugby player, leading people to believe he is feeling better.
