In a distinguished encounter, fighter Jared Gordon put in an outstanding professional performance earlier this evening at UFC 295 in New York, after defeating lightweight veteran and former Olympic player Mark Madsen with a fierce opening punch during of the TKO round.
Both fighters quickly got into the clinch and exchanged blows. Gordon rained down some big clear shots early on that caught Madsen’s attention.
However, the light heavyweight wrestler continued to press forward, happily connecting with Gordon in the clinch. Gordon eventually got back into the well, scored another punch inside, then finished with a barrage of strikes as Madsen covered the canvas.

Gordon, 35, has had a rough past 12 months. Not only did “Flash” drop a controversial decision loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282 last December, but he suffered a No Contest at the hands of a Bobby Green headbutt this past April. This was a huge chance for Gordon to finally right the ship and deliver a key moment heading into the new year. He did just that.
