Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov joined his childhood friend Islam Makhachev two weeks before his fight at UFC 294. The reigning champion was originally scheduled to face Charles Oliveira in a rematch. Finally, the Brazilian opened his eyebrow and was forced to withdraw. Fortunately for the fans, Alexander Volkanovski accepted the fight in short notice. Again, this is revenge. At UFC 284, Islam Makhachev secured a unanimous decision victory over the Australian after 5 competitive rounds.
