UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is due to fight Tyson Fury on October 28, but the boxer has already signed for an undisputed title fight with Oleksandr Usyk that could happen as soon as two months later
Francis Ngannou has warned Tyson Fury that he will be unable to fight Oleksandr Usyk in the pair’s undisputed world heavyweight title fight due to a medical suspension.
On Friday, we learned that Tyson Fury was going to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title, and according to rumors, this fight would be scheduled in Riyadh, at the end of December or in January 2024.
And this date appealed to Francis Ngannou. In fact, it falls barely two months after the date of the clash between the ‘Predator’ and the ‘Gipsy King’, a fight which will take place on October 28. While Ngannou is preparing with Mike Tyson for this fight, and could well create a surprise according to the latter, Fury seems to be taking the fight more lightly.
For his part, Alexander Krassyuk, Usyk’s promoter, confirmed this fight against Fury:
“I can’t believe this is happening, but it is. It’s difficult to express my awe at being part of the greatest heavyweight fight of the century. Respect to Tyson for his courage.”
And all this made Francis Ngannou react, who is surprised by the date of the fight, and asks himself questions:
“I don’t know what the minimum medical suspension is in boxing, but I really don’t understand how Tyson can fight in December after what’s going to happen on 10/28🤔.”
Basically, it looks like Tyson Fury accepted the Usyk fight thinking he wouldn’t take any damage against Francis Ngannou. It is at least in this sense that we can understand the reaction of the ‘Predator’.
In the meantime, Francis Ngannou continues to work on his technique with Mike Tyson and risks arriving fully pumped up on October 28.
