For his first UFC light heavyweight fight, Alex Pereira challenged Jan Blachowicz. And the Brazilian won by split decision.
Round 1: Directly, the Pole picks up his opponent in single leg. Pereira defends against the fence trying to lock a standing guillotine, which slows Blachowicz in his progress. The latter accelerates all the same and takes the Brazilian to the ground. Quickly, he grabs her back and locks down a body triangle. The Pole is not far from validating the submission, but Alex Pereira resists…
Round 2: Standing, Pereira insists on low kicks and becomes more aggressive in striking. Blachowicz controls without causing any real damage to ‘Poatan’. The Brazilian ends the recovery extremely strong.

Round 3: The two athletes seem to be well underway, in particular Jan Blachowicz. However, the Pole remains standing and continues to exchange with his opponent in striking. The latter changes level at the end of the recovery and validates a takedown on ‘Poatan’. The Pole controls the proceedings on the ground until the end of the fight.
Victory for Alex Pereira by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).
