Anthony Smith has dedicated his life to mixed martial arts for fifteen years now. Arrived at the UFC in 2016 after stints at Bellator or Strikeforce, the child of Omaha has beaten some of the biggest names in the category. On the list of his conquests of the octagon, we find in particular Hector Lombard, Rashad Evans, Mauricio Rua, Volkan Oezdemir or Alexander Gustafsson. After a defeat against Magomed Ankalaev in 2022, the Factory X rookie lost again, against Johnny Walker, this Saturday, May 13, in front of the public in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Anthony Smith: the end?
On a Sirius XM broadcast, Anthony Smith was asked if he plans to step down. The Nebraska prodigy then said, “No, I’m not going to leave everything like that. […] If I retire one day, it will be in two possible ways. I’ll fade into obscurity and you’ll all be there like, ‘Damn, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen Anthony’. Or else I’d be kicked out of there, screaming. Thus, the former contender for the under 93 kg title still seems determined to seek other great victories in the octagon.
