UAE’s Zayed Alkatheeri will face Jordan’s Mohammed Hilal Ahmad Abu Rumuh in an openweight submission grappling bout at ONE 171: Qatar on Thursday, February 20.
Alkatheeri was scheduled to face Kuwait’s Jarrah Alhazzaa at flyweight but the latter withdrew, forcing ONE Championship to find the Emirati a new opponent days before the event.
Both Alkatheeri and Abu Rumuh are black belt BJJ athletes with the Emirati being the first in his country to win a gold medal at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Pan American Championship.
