Don’t expect to see Marc Goddard refereeing any of UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards’ fights.
Edwards is set to defend his title in a rematch against Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC 304, scheduled for July 27 in Manchester, England.
The renowned referee has officiated some of the biggest fights in UFC history, with fighters like Colby Covington disagreeing with some of his stoppages.
However, this is not the reason why Marc Goddard will not officiate Edwards’ fights.
The British referee has a very valid reason.
Goddard said on the Overdogs Podcast: “This is a classic case… you have never seen me referee a Leon Edwards fight in the UFC, and you never will.”
