Morocco’s Abdelali Zahidi picked up an impressive knockout victory against Myanmar’s rising star Tun Min Aung at ONE Championship event ONE Friday Fights 88.
The young Moroccan star scored a second-round knockout with a high left kick that sent his opponent crashing to the canvas.
Zahidi was on the front foot for much of the bout inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. He targeted Aung with low kicks to slow him down before the two men traded quick punches from close range.
In the second round, Zahidi continued to attack aggressively. While Aung countered with punches and struck from inside the clinch, the Moroccan was more effective with his strikes, using his elbows and knees.
The pivotal moment came when Zahidi evaded Aung’s punch and countered with a powerful left high kick to the Myanmar star’s head, knocking him out at 2:40 of the second round.
With this win, the Moroccan picked up an impressive debut win and a performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong while raising his overall professional record to 25-4.
This is the thirteenth consecutive win for the 25-year-old who owns an impressive resume. Zahidi has previously picked up the Moroccan Muay Thai championship ten times and won each of the Arab, African Muay Thai championships, and the IFMA world championship twice.
