Kirill Grishenko left Lusail Sports Arena as the winner of the only heavyweight MMA clash on the ONE 171: Qatar card.
The Belarus star looked in danger as Italy’s veteran Mauro Cerilli hammered him with fists before the latter’s eye poke forced the referee to call for injury time.
After returning to action, Grishenko picked up the pace, hitting Cerilli punches and focusing his low kicks on keeping the Italian veteran away.
One of Grishenko’s low kicks caught Cerilli’s right leg badly, causing the referee to end the fight at 3:28 of the first round via TKO.
With this win, the 33-year-old heavyweight raises his ONE record to 4-2.
