Turkish MMA star Alibeg Rasulov enjoyed a winning debut in martial arts organization ONE Championship, defeating former Lightweight MMA champion Ok Rae Yoon, inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
Rasulov picked up an impressive win against his Korean counterpart after five rounds of fighting via unanimous decision in the main event of the show ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs Rasulov.
Despite the win, Rasulov did not capture the ONE Lightweight MMA world title as he was ruled ineligible to win the belt after he only made the 77.1 Kg weight limit and passed the hydration tests after the window closed on weigh-in day.
However, the 31-year-old Hyperion Fighters representative dominated the 25-minute bout, striking the former divisional champion with elbows and punches from close range, and showcasing his clinching skills.
Despite that Ok made a comeback in later rounds, striking his opponent with right and left punches, it was too little, too late, as Rasulov added another win to his spotless record.
With the win, Rasulov raises his impressive overall professional record to 14-0 and may be the next in line to face the returning divisional champion Christian Lee for the ONE Lightweight MMA world title.
