When the UFC announced the fight order for the UFC 300 card, many fans were shocked to see Bo Nickal on the main card.
The stacked card is full with past champions and future Hall of Famers, but the unranked middleweight’s fight was still put over the likes of Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic and Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan.
However, now it seems like Nickal’s fight against Cody Brundage has been bumped down to be the opening bout of the main card. At least according to new promo for UFC 300.

Even though Nickal has good potential, he is not yet legitimized enough to appear alongside fighters such as Charles Oliveira, Arman Tsarukyan, Holloway, Gaethje, Zhang Weili, Yan Xiaonan, and of course Jamahal Hill and Alex Pereira. On the other hand, UFC 300 is full of former champions and future Hall of Famers. Placing Bo above them shows a certain lack of respect for their accomplishments.

UFC 300: an update
When the UFC 300 fight order was revealed, Nickal vs. Brundage was placed above Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan. After a wave of anger directed at Nickal, Brundage and the UFC, the order was changed. The card order now shows Nickal vs. Brundage as the first fight of the UFC 300 main card.
Considering that an Oliveira or Tsarukyan win could propel them into the next lightweight title fight, it seems only fitting that this fight takes place before a Bo Nickal fight. UFC 300 is full of amazing fights from the bottom to the top! Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt will still be exciting, even if the fight doesn’t appear on the main card. The order of fights only matters to the most die-hard fans.
Bo Nickal is undefated
The fact that the former three-time NCAA Division National Champion is on the main card of UFC 300 after just five pro MMA fights says something about what potentional the promotion sees in Bo Nickal.
However, for many fans, the 28-year-old American wrestler still has a lot to prove as a MMA fighter, even though he stopped every opponent in the first round so far. UFC 300 is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight where reigning champion Alex Pereira takes on former title holder Jamahal Hill.
