Sean O’Malley has always been confident, this is nothing new. Recently, he made his mark by seizing the bantamweight title held by Aljamain Sterling by beating him by TKO at UFC 292. Right after, he even received praise from a certain Jon Jones!
Now, ‘Sugar’ has requested a rematch against Marlon Vera and the latter agreed last month. However, the UFC has not made anything official yet.
Even if he has not mentioned a move to featherweight to challenge Alexander Volkanovski, O’Malley already imagines that he could beat him. During an interview, he made it clear that he didn’t want this fight right away, but if it happened, then he could knock out Voklanvski:
“I’m not going to fight Volk, I’m just being very honest. It’s a very, very, very difficult fight. Do I think I could knock him out? 100%. I believe I can knock out anyone at 135 and 145 lbs. At 155 lbs, it could be more difficult, I might have to gain a few extra kilos.”
