Undefeated Uzbek fighter Sanzhar Zakirov’s highly anticipated debut in ONE Championship’s monthly fight series has been rescheduled to the organization’s event ONE Fight Night 25, which will take place this October.
Zakirov will face Japanese counterpart Hiroba Minowa in a Strawweight MMA fight at ONE Fight Night 25 which kicks off at 3:00 AM on Saturday, 5 October.
The two men’s contest was initially scheduled to take place at ONE 168: Denver in September before the martial arts organization pushed it to October.
Zakirov, who owns an overall professional record of 12-0, has picked up three wins in the three fights he participated in at the organization’s weekly fight series, ONE Friday Fights. His impressive win streak – which included two TKO victories – earned him a big contract to join ONE from its CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong.
The 21-year-old, who is nicknamed “Tornado”, will look to pick up his most important win yet against Minowa who most recently defeated Jeremy Miado.
By defeating Miado, the 24-year-old Japanese star arrested his slump in form, but will be keen to improve his 3-3 promotional record and break the Uzbek’s undefeated record.
ONE Fight Night 25 will be headlined by a rematch for the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing world title rematch between champion Alexis Nicolas and former champion Regian Eersel. The show kicks off at 3:00 AM on Saturday 5 October and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
