Undefeated Kazakhstani MMA star Samat Mamedov faces tough Swiss opponent Maurice Abevi in a lightweight MMA contest at ONE 170 on January 24.
Mamedov and Abevi were originally slated to face off at ONE 168: Denver this past September, but a late injury to Mamedov forced the bout off the card.
Now the dangerous pair are set to clash inside Bangkok’s Impact Arena on Friday, January 24 where Mamedov will make his official ONE Championship debut.
The 26-year-old Kazakhstani boasts a perfect 10-0 record, including nine finishes all coming in the first round. The nine finishes include six submissions and three knockouts across the tough Eastern European MMA circuit.
On the other hand, Abevi arrived in ONE Championship back in April 2023 with an unblemished record. After the 25-year-old Swiss star’s debut loss against Halil Amir, he bounced back with two consecutive wins including a first-round TKO victory over Blake Cooper.
