Salah Eddine Hamli, known as “Super Salah”, has established himself as one of the rising stars of MMA in the MENA region. As a finalist in the Professional Fighters League (PFL) MENA, the Moroccan fighter shares insights into his journey, his roots, his passion, and his ambitions in the sport he has loved since childhood.
Born in Morocco and raised in Spain, Hamli boasts an impressive professional record: ten wins in ten fights, remaining undefeated and positioning himself as one of the most promising talents in the regional MMA scene. Currently ranked 102nd in Europe and 36th in Africa and the Middle East in the lightweight category, he proudly represents Morocco on the international stage. His explosive fighting style and warrior temperament have earned him the nickname “Super Salah”.
Reflecting on his origins, Hamli explains:
“I was born in the village of Touissit near Oujda. When I was three, my parents and I moved to Spain. That’s where I began training, and today I represent Morocco in the PFL final.”
On the birth of his passion for combat sports, he recalls:
“Since I was young, I’ve loved sports. I dreamed of becoming an athlete. I started with football, like every child. One day, my father showed me a Muhammad Ali fight, and I told him I wanted to try boxing. He initially refused, thinking I’d take too many hits… but eventually, I started boxing. As I grew older, I transitioned to MMA. Thanks to God, I progressed step by step until I reached the PFL final.”
Regarding the historic final against Iraqi fighter Mohamed Fahmi and his future ambitions, “Super Salah” is determined:
“I have many goals. The first is to win this belt representing Morocco. Then, I want to bring a PFL event to Morocco – that’s my dream. I discussed this with Gustavo Gomes Firmino, PFL Vice President.”
Today, the moment of truth has arrived. Just one fight away from the title, Salah Eddine Hamli could become the first Moroccan champion in PFL history, writing a new chapter in the story of Moroccan combat sports.
