Roman Kryklia Expects Knockout Against Lyndon Knowles at ONE Fight Night 30

Two-sport, two-weight ONE world champion Roman Kryklia has laid out his expectations for his upcoming clash against Lyndon Knowles at ONE Fight Night 30.

Kryklia will defend his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai world title against Knowles inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium in the morning hours of Saturday, April 5.

The 33-year-old Ukrainian star, who owns a clean 6-0 record in ONE, believes the highly anticipated contest will end with a finish in the championship rounds.

“I don’t think this one goes the full five rounds. Heavyweights, small gloves, Muay Thai rules — add in elbows and knees, and there’s a high chance of a knockout. Ideally, I’d like to spend some time in the ring, show my technique, and finish the fight clean,” Kryklia said.

Kryklia says he did not change his preparations much ahead of the upcoming matchup, but is getting ready with the usual seriousness that marks his training camps.

“I take every opponent seriously. I always prepare as if I’m facing the toughest fight of my life, and that mindset never changes. You can’t predict how things will go in this game, which is what makes it special,” Kryklia said.

The Ukrainian fighter adds that he will be looking to showcase his diversified attacking skills against the Brit.

“With the small gloves, the chances of a finish go way up. My hands are obviously a threat, but I’m not just looking for a punch. I’ll be mixing in kicks, knees, elbows—the full arsenal,” he said.
