Rodtang Jitmuangnon made quick work of Japanese kickboxing star Takeru Segawa at ONE 172 in Japan on Sunday, March 23.
Rodtang picked up an impressive first-round-knockout win in the long-awaited five-round flyweight kickboxing super-fight.
The two men kicked off the fight by advancing forward cautiously and trading leg kicks as they looked for openings.
The pivotal moment came when Rodtang managed to corner Takeru, struck with a right punch, and followed that up with a left jab that sent the Japanese star crashing to the canvas.
The visibly shaken Takeru tried to regain his feet but only did so after the referee finished the count. As a result, Rodtang claimed the KO victory at 1:20 of the first round.
With this win, Rodtang raises his overall professional record to 273-43 and his ONE record in Muay Thai and Kickboxing to 17-1.
In a post-match interview, the 27-year-old Thai, who lost his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai world title on the scales, vowed to reclaim the championship belt.
