Revisiting Zebaztian Kadestam’s Last Three Wins in ONE Championship
Former ONE Welterweight MMA world champion Zebaztian Kadestam is set to return to the ONE Championship ring for the first time in two years.
Kadestam, who held the divisional title between 2018 and 2019, will face Australian-Tongan athlete Isi Fitikefu at ONE Fight Night 31: Kongthoranee vs Nong-O II in the morning of Saturday, May 3 inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Before the Swedish star makes his anticipated return, we look at his three most recent wins in ONE Championship.
1. Kadestam Crushes Valmir da Silva
In February 2022, Kadestam entered his bout against Valmir da Silva on a three-loss-run, but managed to capture a much-neededfirst-round knockout win.
Just 86 seconds into the catchweight clash, the Swedish star launched a four-punch combination that knocked out the Brazilian.
2. Kadestam Knocks Out Iuri Lapicus
Six months later, Kadestam made it two wins in a row with another first-round knockout victory against former ONE Lightweight world title challenger Iuri Lapicus.
Kadestam spotted an open space in the Moldovan’s defense as he came forward and made him pay, connecting with a powerful right uppercut that knocked out Lapicus within 57 seconds.
3. Kadestam Shocks Roberto Soldic
In May 2023, Kadestam shocked the world by picking up the biggest win of his career against Croatian star Roberto Soldic at ONE Championship’s first ever US event, ONE Fight Night 10.
Soldic controlled the first round, but Kadestam came from behind in the second round, stunning his opponent with a counter elbow followed by a combination of strikes that sent the Croatian star down the canvas just 45 seconds into the round.
With the big win, Kadestam raised his overall professional record to 15-7 and proved he is one of the best welterweight MMA fighters in the world.
