Revisiting Nakrob Fairtex’s Run in ONE Championship So Far
Thailand’s Nakrob Fairtex has established himself as a star in ONE Championship in a little over two years.
Nakrob has fought 10 bouts since joining the martial arts organization back in January 2023 – eight in ONE’s weekly fight series ONE Friday Fights and two in ONE’s monthly fight series ONE Fight Nights.
The 26-year-old Thai fighter has proven he belongs to the Muay Thai elite, winning a huge ONE contract and owning an 8-2 promotional record and a 69-22 overall professional record.
In the morning hours of Saturday, June 7, Nakrob will headline ONE Fight Night 32 where he will face compatriot JaosuayaiMor Krungthepthonburi in a pivotal flyweight Muay Thai contest.
Nakrob’s story in ONE Championship and his rise to main event status is an inspirational one as it shows that he possesses not only top in-ring skills, but also the perseverance to recover from defeat.
The Thai star had opened his ONE account with four excellent victories, including two knockouts.
However, in September 2023, he endured his first loss at ONE Friday Fights against the current ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing world champion Nabil Anane.
Despite the loss against Anane, Nakrob made a stunning comeback, picking up five consecutive wins, including two finishes. His most spectacular win came against former world title challenger Tagir Khalilov via first-round knockout in June 2024.
Another setback followed as he lost to rising star KongthoraneeSor Sommai via unanimous decision, only to bounce back instantly with his most recent win coming by a second-round knockout at the expense of Puengluang Baanramba earlier in March.
Before Nakrob headlines a ONE Fight Night event for the first time, it is clear that he has earned the respect of the martial arts community and proved that he belongs to the very best Muay Thai practitioners in the world.
A win against Jaosuayai will only solidify his status as a force in the Muay Thai flyweight division and perhaps throw his name among the serious contenders for the vacant world title.
