Reviewing Alibeg Rasulov’s Impressive Run So Far at ONE Championship
Undefeated Turkish MMA star Alibeg Rasulov has brought his ultra-aggressive, clinch-heavy fighting style to ONE Championship, impressing in his first two appearances in the global martial arts organization.
In an exciting co-main event lightweight MMA bout, Rasulov will face Switzerland’s Maurice Abevi at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs Jaosuayai in the morning hours of Saturday, June 7.
Rasulov opened his ONE account with a dominant performance in a catchweight bout over five rounds against former ONE Lightweight MMA world champion Ok Rae Yoon at ONE Fight Night 23 in July 2024.
The Hyperion Fighters representative showcased his rugged style in a 25-minute war, controlling his opponent inside the clinch and striking him with elbows from close range.
The South Korean fighter picked up the pace in the later rounds, striking with left and right punches, but the 32-year-old Turkish star absorbed the strikes and showed composure.
Despite missing weight and his chance to win the ONE Interim Lightweight MMA world title, Rasulov’s brilliant debut performance was enough to convince the three judges to award him a unanimous decision win, raising his overall professional MMA record to 14-0.
In his second ONE Championship bout in December, Rasulov faced lightweight king Christian Lee for the world title in a warat ONE Fight Night 26 from the opening bell. The Turkish fighter defended Lee’s takedown attempts and connected with solid combinations.
A quick-paced, action-packed battle in which the two men traded straights and jabs ended near the end of the second round with Rasulov unable to continue after taking a wayward finger from Lee.
