Recapping Maurice Abevi’s ONE Championship Run So Far

Maurice Abevi has been on an impressive run recently in ONE Championship, proving that he is a serious contender in the martial arts organization’s lightweight MMA division.

Abevi will face undefeated Turkish MMA star Alibeg Rasulov in the morning hours of Saturday, June 7 at ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs Jaosuayai.

Abevi, who is a skilled striker and grappler, joined ONE with a clean professional record and a reputation as a skilled technician and hunger.

Despite an excellent debut performance in which he showed great resilience, the 25-year-old Swiss star opened his ONE account with a disappointing loss against Turkish star Halil Amir in April 2023.

However, Abevi roared back with three straight victories, dominating top opponents and proving that he belongs to the best of the best lightweight MMA fighters.

Five months after his debut, Abevi finished American fighter Blake Cooper in September 2023 via technical knockout at 4:36 in the first round.

In his one and only fight in 2024, Abevi went up against Chinese veteran Zhang Lipeng, picking up perhaps the biggest win of his career via unanimous decision after three rounds of fighting.

In his most recent outing, in January 2025, Abevi completely dominated Samat Mamedov and finished him via a technical knockout at 2:46 in the first round.

ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs Jaosuayai kicks off at 4:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, June 7 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com.
