PFL – Francis Ngannou could face Deontay Wilder in MMA in 2024?

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou could face Deontay Wilder in MMA next year.

Francis Ngannou will join the Professional fighters league (PFL) in 2024. The announcement was made by PFL president Donn Davis this Monday, November 20, during his appearance on The MMA Hour. For his big debut, the Cameroonian fighter could face American boxer Deontay Wilder. A big date with special rules, the PFL boss announced.

Francis Ngannou has 17 wins and 3 losses in MMA.”The Predator”, as he’s nicknamed, recently took up boxing and held his own against world champion Tyson Fury. He could face another boxing legend in Deontay Wilder (43 wins, 42 by KO, 2 losses, 1 draw).

For several weeks, Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder have been in discussions for a potential clash. Lately, the American boxer has spoken about his transition to MMA, and discussed his desire to face the former UFC champion. But this Monday, this possible fight took on a much more serious dimension…

Invited by journalist Ariel Helwani on the show The MMA Hour, Donn Davis, the boss of the PFL, returned to the rumor concerning the Ngannou vs. Wilder. He announced that the ‘Predator’ will make his PFL debut in 2024, with a good chance that it will be against Deontay Wilder. Davis also mentions “special rules”, which still leaves many questions.
