Top MMA Flyweight stars Adriano Moraes and Danny Kingad are set to clash at ONE Championship’s second US event of the year, ONE 169: Atlanta at State Farm Arena.
In a rematch of their world title bout in 2017, former eight-time ONE Flyweight MMA world champion Moraes aims to defend his place as the top contender in the weight division against third-ranked contender Kingad.
Moraes, 36, originally captured the flyweight MMA title in 2014 owns a 20-5 overall record and a 10-5 record in ONE.
The Brazilian veteran most recently completed a world title trilogy with MMA great Demetrious Johnson, scoring a knockout win in April 2021 before losing via KO in August 2022 and via unanimous decision in May 2023.
On the other hand, Kingad hopes to capture a big win that would boost his chances at competing for the world title belt.
The 28-year-old Filipino fighter owns an 11-4 promotional record but has recently witnessed a dip of form, going 2-2 in his last four bouts at the martial arts organization.
Kingad is keen to get his revenge against Moraes after the latter became the first – and only – man to finish him (via first-round submission) at ONE: LEGENDS OF THE WORLD in November 2017.
ONE 169 kicks off at 3:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, November 9 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS in the MENA region.
