Nordine Mahieddine to replace Antonio Plazibat at GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix

The GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix has a new entrant as Nordine Mahieddine (25–18, 13 KO) is confirmed to replace the injured Antonio Plazibat for the March 9 event at the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands.

Plazibat re-injured the arm he broke last summer during COLLISION 5 and now the Croatian needs more time to recover before returning to the ring. As a result, Nordine Mahieddine, number four heavyweight in the official GLORY rankings, will take his place in the eight-man tournament which will be held in a single night.

The Franco-Algerian was already confirmed to take part in the Grand Prix reserve fight following his incredible knockout victory in Paris last September.

Mahieddine therefore joins Rico Verhoeven, Tariq Osaro Levi Rigters, Uku Jürjendal, Bahram Rajabzadeh, Nabil Khachab and Sofian Laïdouni in the Grand Prix.

In fact, the Romanian Benjamin Adegbuyi (35–7, 20 KO) will now face the Turk Cihad Kepenek (21–6, 15 KO) in the reserve fight. The winner could potentially participate in the Grand Prix in the event of retirement or injury of one of the participants during the night.
