Nong-O Captures Deserved Win Against Kongthoranee, Announces Himself as World Title Challenger at Flyweight

Muay Thai legend Nong-O Hama picked up a deserved unanimous decision win against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in the main event of ONE Championship show ONE Fight Night 31.

After losing to his compatriot three months ago, Nong-O bagged a big win in the highly anticipated rematch and his first victory at flyweight, announcing himself as a contender for the division’s vacant belt.

The 38-year-old Thai veteran brushed the 28-year-old aside, controlling the pace for most of the matchup. Aside from a second-round scare, when Kongthoranee’s boxing combination almost dropped Nong-O, the latter was far superior utilizing his punches and kicks effectively.

With this victory, Nong-O raised his overall professional record to 267-58, earned a 50,000 dollar performance bonus, and might have taken Kongthoranee the third spot in the divisional rankings, making a case to challenge for the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai world title.
