Nate Diaz Secures Victory Over Jorge Masvidal by Decision After a Fierce Battle

After the boxing match involving former UFC fighter Darren Till, a major brawl broke out due to Till repeatedly delivering blows to the back of the head during the fight, which angered his opponent once the match ended.

The first round of the fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal began with numerous attacks from Masvidal. Diaz did his best to avoid most of the blows and landed shots on his opponent’s body. The first round ended with some great combinations from Diaz, making him more comfortable quickly.

Masvidal wasted no time and started strong in the first round. It didn’t take long for Diaz to return to his usual antics, responding with some punches and winning the opening round.

For the rest of the fight, the rounds followed one another and became increasingly similar, with Masvidal starting well but soon being overtaken by Nate Diaz’s technique, who always finished the rounds strongly. Both fighters threw heavy punches in an attempt to knock the other out of the ring. However, Masvidal’s punches seemed to have a greater impact as he mixed body and head attacks.

The fight was scheduled to last 10 rounds and continued until the end of the 10 rounds as neither man was able to knock the other out. Both fighters had their moments as the match progressed to the middle rounds. Diaz attacked more aggressively and was always in front of Masvidal, but Gamebred landed more powerful punches and took a more economical approach.

This dynamic continued throughout the fight, leaving the judges with a very difficult task. In the end, Nate Diaz won the boxing match by majority decision (95-95, 97-93, 98-92), avenging Jorge Masvidal. This win marked Diaz’s first victory in the sweet science, after losing a unanimous 10-round decision to Jake Paul in August.

Perhaps more importantly for Diaz, he had the chance to even the score against Masvidal. The fan-favorite duo met at UFC 244 in 2019 with the promotional “BMF” title on the line, where Masvidal won by technical knockout (TKO) in the third round due to a doctor’s stoppage.

Diaz fought twice more in the UFC, losing a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards before securing a fourth-round victory over Tony Ferguson. The UFC star has now participated in two boxing matches but doesn’t seem convinced that this is his new home. His latest plans appear to target a return to the promotion that made him a star, with a particular focus on a third fight against Conor McGregor.

Diaz said, according to Manouk Akopyan of BoxingScene: “I see it as a fight that has to happen. I want to get this fight out of the way to think about the future. UFC 306 [at the Sphere in Las Vegas] would be great if that’s an option. I want to have big fights against the best competitors for the rest of my career.”

A match against McGregor seems far-fetched at this stage, especially after McGregor made headlines by withdrawing from his scheduled match against Michael Chandler due to a toe injury and hasn’t fought since 2021. However, if anyone can persuade him to return and achieve another massive payday, it’s Diaz.
