Algeria’s Nabil Anane is set to face Thai veteran PetchtanongPetchfergus in what should be an exciting bantamweight kickboxing matchup.
The 20-year-old rising Algerian star hopes to win his sixth consecutive bout in ONE Championship in his first kickboxing fight.
Anane most recently defeated Soe Lin Oo via unanimous decision on September 27. The young striker had earlier picked up the biggest win of his career against former world title challenger Felipe Lobo following three victories against Thai trio Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Nakrob Fairtex.
Despite his excellent form, Anane faces a tough mission against the 38-year-old Thai star in front of the latter’s home crowd in Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
A former Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion, Petchtanong is a seasoned veteran with an incredible 359-56 record. After serving a year-long suspension, he returned to action in June and picked up an impressive win against former world title challenger Alaverdi Ramazanov, capturing his third win in a row in ONE Championship.
Anane joins compatriot Elias Mahmoudi on the ONE Fight Night 26 card. 26-year-old Mahmoudi hopes to prove that he deserves to challenge for Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s ONE Flyweight Muay Thai belt with a win against the ultra-aggressive Denis Puric.
Headlined by a ONE Lightweight MMA world title fight between returning titleholder Christian Lee and Turkey’s AlibegRasulov, ONE Fight Night 26 kicks off at 3:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, 7 December and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS.
