Nabil Anane to Fight for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title
Algeria’s Nabil Anane will face Nico Carrillo for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Championship show ONE 170.
The in-form Anane and Carrillo are set to collide in the star-studded show inside Bangkok’s Impact Arena on Friday, January 24.
Carrillo was scheduled to fight for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world title against titleholder Superlek, but the latter’s knee injury has forced him out of the co-main event.
The winner between Anane and Carrillo will face Superlek in a unification world title bout at ONE 172 in Japan.
Anane has won five consecutive bouts, including his most recent wins against Lethwei legend Soe Lin Oo and former world title challenger Felipe Lobo.
Meanwhile, Carrillo maintains a clean 4-0 ONE record with a 100% finish rate with his latest wins coming against Saemapetch Fairtex and Thai legend Nong-O Hama.
ONE 170 kicks off at 2:00 PM Mecca on Friday, January 24.
