Nabil Anane Thanks Mehdi Zatout After Beating Superlek: “Everything Went According to Plan”
Algeria’s Muay Thai star Nabil Anane thanked his team and head coach and compatriot Mehdi Zatout after beating Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 172: Takeru vs Rodtang.
The 20-year-old ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai world champion picked up a memorable victory against the Thai megastar in a bantamweight Muay Thai contest in Japan.
“Everything went according to plan, thanks to Mehdi Zatout and his team, who have come up with a plan with him and trained me very hard for this fight,” Anane said.
The towering athlete dominated the bout over three rounds at Saitama Super Arena, using striking combinations, head kicks, and punches en route to a deserved unanimous decision win.
Anane showed remarkable improvement in the rematch in comparison to his performance in his promotional debut knockout defeat against Superlek in 2023.
Anane, who represents Team Mehdi Zatout, published a special post to thank his head coach, describing him as his “big brother”.
“Thank you to the person who is like my brother, my camp leader, my cousin, and also like someone who is one of my family. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have reached this point. Thank you very much, Mehdi,” Anane said.
