Algerian Muay Thai star Nabil Anane is set to face undefeated Russian Kiamran Nabati in a key bantamweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Championship show ONE 170.
Anane and Nabati will square off in Bangkok’s Impact Arena on the star-studded card headlined by three world championship matchups.
The 20-year-old Algerian has proven to be one of the best Muay Thai rising stars recently, winning five consecutive bouts in ONE Championship.
Since September 2023, Anane picked up a string of impressive victories, most recently beating Soe Lin Oo and former world title challenger Felipe Lobo via unanimous decision after brushing aside Thai trio Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Nakrob Fairtex.
But the Algerian faces a mammoth task against Nabati, who remains undefeated in 22 professional bouts.
The 30-year-old Russian athlete most recently defeated Thai legend and former divisional champion Nong-O Hama via unanimous decision at ONE Friday Fights 81, raising his ONE record to 4-0.
Nabati, who had previously beaten Pongsiri PK Saenchai, Avatar PK Saenchai, and Suablack in ONE Friday Fights events, will now fight in a numbered ONE Championship event for the first time.
ONE 170, which takes place on January 24, is headlined by three world title bouts. In the all-Thai main event, TawanchaiPK Saenchai defends his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai world championship against Superbon.
Meanwhile two-sport world champion Superlek Kiatmoo puts his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the line against high-flying Scottish knockout artist Nico Carrillo, who has four wins from four ONE bouts, all coming via finishes.
Also, Fabricio Andrade returns to action to defend his ONE Bantamweight MMA belt against Kwon Won Il while Brazilian BJJ legend Marcelo Garcia makes his debut in a battle of the veterans against Masakazu Imanari.
