Muay Thai and Kickboxing Champion Roman Kryklia Outlines Future Ambitions 

ONE two-sport, two-weight world champion Roman Kryklia discussed his career and ambitions ahead of defending his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Fight Night 30.

Kryklia will put his belt on the line in the morning hours of this Saturday, April 5 against Lyndon Knowles.

Since joining ONE Championship, the 33-year-old Ukrainian has been in dominant form, scoring a 6-0 promotional record.

In addition to his Muay Thai crown, the Ukrainian star holds the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing world championship and is the winner of the Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.

And yet despite his great achievements to date, Kryklia says that the best is yet to come in his career.

“I don’t think I’ve peaked yet. I’ve grown a lot during my time away from the ring, and I’m confident there’s still more to show,” he said.

“Being a double champ doesn’t slow me down. My motivation is simple—I want to give fans as many exciting, memorable fights as possible over the next few years,” he added.

While he is defending his Muay Thai belt next, the Ukrainian is more than happy to put his kickboxing strap on the line again soon.

“I’d love to step back into kickboxing. I want to alternate between Muay Thai and kickboxing for a while,” Kryklia said.

“I plan to keep competing in both divisions — light heavyweight and heavyweight. In ONE, that means anything from just over 93 kg up to 120 kg. My walk-around weight puts me right in the middle, so I feel strong and comfortable fighting in either class,” he added.
