In the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 85, Molly McCann made her debut in the strawweight category against Diana Belbita. The Englishwoman, who had two defeats in a row by submission, was keen to get back on track.

Facing Belbita in a rematch, ‘Meatball’ delivered a true masterclass. Standing up, she began to gain the upper hand in striking. More dangerous than the Romanian, McCann takes control of the Octagon and establishes her rhythm.

At the end of the first round, the Briton completed a magnificent takedown before taking the mounted position and starting a ground & pound. In the process, she grabs her opponent’s arm and locks in a superb key. Diminished, Belbita hits and bows with one second remaining in the round.
