PFL boss Donn Davis announced this Wednesday evening that Cameroonian Francis Ngannou would compete in his first fight within the organization in September against Brazilian Renan Ferreira. He added that Frenchman Cédric Doumbè would also be scheduled for the same evening, without specifying the identity of his future opponent.
The PFL has found its goose that lays golden eggs. This Wednesday evening, on The MMA Hour podcast, PFL founder and president Donn Davis finally announced the first fight of his new heavyweight star Francis Ngannou. After a break to try his hand at the noble art, the former UFC champion will return to the octagon against the Brazilian Renan Ferreira. The Cameroonian will thus compete for the PFL heavyweight belt, in the main event of the evening.
And to enhance the evening, Donn Davis announced that Cédric Doumbè would also fight. His future opponent should be announced soon, while the Franco-Cameroonian and Baissangur Chamsoudinov seemed to agree on a rematch following their fight in early March. The event will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the map and details will be made official within two months.
“Will it be as early as July? Maybe. Will it be as late as September? No later. But you’ll see Francis now in 2024, in PFL, against ‘La Problemo’ [Renan Ferreira] in what I believe is going to be the fight I’m looking forward to the most in the heavyweight division of all of MMA. That will be a pay-per-view fight. That [event] will also have Cris Cyborg against Larissa Pacheco as the co-main fight.
“That [card] will also have Cedric Doumbe against somebody we’ll announce. So that [fight card] is going to be big just because of Francis, but that fight [card] will have other very compelling matchups on it. That fight card will take place in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, but the details in terms of the full card, the details in terms of the month and the timing, we won’t announce that for about two more months,” Davis said

I agree that Francis vs Renan is the best Heavyweight fight on the planet… UFC can't even match that
And to throw Cyborg vs Pacheco on there.. were pretty much looking at a card on-par with #UFC
