Mike Tyson has an idea in mind: to train Francis Ngannou for his fight against Tyson Fury which will take place next October.
Francis Ngannou will face Tyson Fury on October 28 in a fight that should pay him big. Originally, when Francis Ngannou was UFC heavyweight champion, this fight was to pit the heavyweight king of MMA against that of boxing, today the context is a little different since Ngannou is not champion of anything. However, this confrontation is highly anticipated.
Even if Francis Ngannou still has hopes of facing Jon Jones, he is now focusing on Tyson Fury, and directing his training to be ready on D-Day. This fight will not be easy for the former UFC champion and he knows it. Even if not much comes out on his training for this fight, we suspect that Francis Ngannou is focusing on boxing.
And this is where Mike Tyson appears, who is interested in this fight and would like to help Ngannou. On ES News, Tyson said:
“I don’t think Fury will have an easy time against Ngannou at all, contrary to popular belief. I think anything is possible. Francis has a hard punch. I would like to train him, yes. That would be cool. I like this” .
Remember, Mike Tyson and Francis Ngannou have already met and Tyson had given an improvised boxing lesson to Ngannou (find the video here). He said at the time during this lesson, speaking of Fury (in 2020):
“He hits long. When he hits like that he hits long and suddenly you have these short inside, inside and around and boom, you gotta hit right here to the body. Watch how you hit him with the right uppercut.”
Will Francis Ngannou hear Mike Tyson’s call? It’s possible. What is certain is that the ‘Predator’ would certainly still have valuable advice to take from him.
