round of the main event at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas. Despite being only 25 years old, this promising fighter remains undefeated and continues to impress in the prestigious MMA league.
Six… six fights, and six wins for Michael Morales. At 25, the Ecuadorian fighter is steadily climbing the ranks in the UFC. On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, he needed only 3 minutes and 39 seconds in the first round to eliminate Gilbert Burns.
Although the 38-year-old Brazilian veteran began the fight ranked eighth for the 77 kg (welterweight) title division—a division currently dominated by Jack Della Maddalena—Morales, ranked 12th, proved to be the stronger competitor inside the cage.
A Powerful Entry into the Top Ten in the 77 kg Weight Class
After spending a short time on the ground, Morales delivered strong and relentless strikes, showing no mercy to Burns, who was trapped against the cage, resulting in a TKO victory. While Burns suffers his fourth consecutive loss, Morales remains undefeated in both the UFC and his professional career overall (18-0).
Morales said, “It was tough, I was very nervous in the locker room,” before mentioning the valuable encouragement from his mother and grandmother.
“There was a lot of work leading up to this.” With this impressive performance, the Morales phenomenon is preparing for a logical and impactful entry into the top ten of the 77 kg weight class.
