American fighter Max Holloway suffered a painful setback after being knocked out in the third round of the main event at UFC 308 against Ilia Topuria in Abu Dhabi. This was not just an ordinary defeat but the first time in his professional career that a fight ended in a KO.
Following the bout, Holloway attended a press conference where he expressed his feelings and promised his fans, “Guys, you will see me again. This is not the end of my career, I promise you.”
Although he appeared to be on equal footing at the start of the fight, the knockout prompted him to reconsider his future.
Max, known as “Blessed,” had recently secured the BMF title after delivering a historic KO to Justin Gaethje. However, after the loss in Abu Dhabi, he now needs to reassess his career and regain his shine.
Holloway’s statements reflect his determination and strong will to return to the ring as he aims to regain his fitness and come back stronger than ever. It is now up to him to reignite the flame.
