Majid Karimi Expects Knockout Win Against Kaenpitak
Iran’s Majid Karimi predicts that he will walk out of Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium with a big knockout win over Thailand’s Kaenpitak NhongBangsai.
Karimi and Kaenpitak face each other in a catchweight (55.33 Kg) Muay Thai contest at ONE Friday Fights 108 on Friday, May 16 – a fight which presents the 28-year-old Iranian with an opportunity to bounce back from two consecutive defeats.
Karimi opened his ONE account with a second-round knockout win over Teeyai PK Saenchai in January 2024. He then suffered two losses to Huo Xiaolong via knockout and Pataknin Sinbimuaythai via unanimous decision which he says he has learned a lot from.
“I learned a lot from these two defeats and they added to my experiences, and my motivation to win is greater and I want to fight smarter,” Karimi said.
Despite the rough patch, Karimi is full of confidence ahead of the clash against his Thai opponent who owns a 2-0 record at ONE Friday Fights and a 48-18 overall professional record.
The Iranian, who trains with Team Mehdi Zatout under the Algerian coach and former ONE athlete, expects to improve his overall professional record (8-3) in his next bout.
“I want to overpower him with heavy punches and knock him out, and the victory is mine,” Karimi said.
ONE Friday Fights 108 kicks off at 3:30 PM Mecca this Friday, May 16 and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS and watch.onefc.com.
