Lobo Analyzes Kulabdam’s Style Ahead of their Clash at ONE Friday Fights 114 this Friday
Felipe Lobo is preparing for what he believes will be an exciting battle when he faces Thai powerhouse Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Friday Fights 114, set to take place on Friday, June 27, at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The Brazilian striker, known for his crisp boxing and relentless pace, sees similarities between himself and his upcoming opponent, which he believes will make for an action-packed contest.
“Kulabdam’s game is a bit like mine in terms of boxing,” Lobo explained. “He likes to box, just like me, so it’s going to be a fight with a lot of toe-to-toe striking. It’s going to be an intense fight.”
Kulabdam, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, has built a reputation as one of the most dangerous punchers in the division. But Lobo isn’t just focused on his opponent’s power — he’s carefully studied Kulabdam’s style and sees both strengths and exploitable weaknesses.
“His strengths are that he knows how to use low kicks and straight punches very well. He is very fast, versatile, and knows how to mix things up very well, using low kicks and punches. He does this very well,” Lobo said.
However, the Brazilian also believes that Kulabdam’s movement — or lack thereof — could play into his own strategy.
“Despite being fast and versatile, he is a fighter who doesn’t move around much. He hits and comes back, moves forward and comes back, and fights more stationary. I can exploit that,” he added.
ONE Friday Fights 114 kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Mecca this Friday, June 27, and will be broadcast live via beIN SPORTS 1.
