We know the true nature of Khamzat Chimaev’s injury that he suffered at UFC 294 against Kamaru Usman.
On October 21, Khamzat Chimaev faced Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 and achieved the feat of beating the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ after 3 rounds by majority decision. Following this, Khamzat Chimaev entered the UFC middleweight rankings, in 9th place.
But during this fight, and in particular during the second and third rounds, we realized that Chimaev was not giving exactly everything he had in striking. And just after the fight, ‘Borz’ declared that he had broken his hand in the first round. Which suggested a long period of absence.
However, it is not as serious as expected, and according to ESPN, via Majdi Shamma, Chimaev’s manager, the latter does not have a broken hand, but rather a torn ligament. He will have to wear a splint for the next four weeks, but should avoid surgery if all goes well.
From now on, it remains to be seen who he will face on his return to the Octagon, many want to see him face the reigning middleweight champion as promised by Dana White, but recently, Sean Strickland destroyed Khamzat Chimaev by saying in particular that he didn’t deserve his chance.
