Justin Gaethje warns Dustin Poirier ahead of UFC 291 clash

Dustin Poirier is disappointed that his upcoming fight will clash with the ‘Super Bowl’ of boxing.

Poirier is set to return to the octagon for the first time since beating Michael Chandler in December when he takes on Justin Gaethje next month.

Justin Gaethje knows his fight at UFC 291 against Dustin Poirier for the BMF belt will not be easy, he promises a war on Dustin Poirier.

Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier will meet in the main event of UFC 291 and although “The Highlight” lost the first time by fourth round stoppage, he says he will not watch the first fight. ‘The Highlight’ thinks he and ‘The Diamond’ have evolved as fighters since that first clash five years ago and watching the old tape won’t do him any favors. However, he is still preparing for all-out war on July 29, as he knows their revenge will be a dogfight.

Justin Gaethje promises “25 minutes in hell”
“It was five years ago, I don’t think that plays a role. I won’t watch this fight, the UFC made me watch it the other day, it’s a fun fight to watch,” Gaethje said on DC & RC. “But, like I said, I fought like an idiot, but that’s the challenge we face, every fight is so different every time. I fought Oliveira like an idiot, that was two fights ago, I fought the last fight perfectly, I fought the fight before Oliveira perfectly against Chandler. »

“July 29 is 25 minutes and that’s all that matters. What will happen, I don’t know. Gaethje continued. “I am preparing for 25 minutes of hell because I know I am fighting a dog and I will never give up, and he knows it. So I’m sure we’ll be as prepared as possible. »

Justin Gaethje expects the fight to be a two-way street and to last 25 minutes as he has to make Dustin Poirier pay for any mistakes he makes. ‘The Highlight’ also knows he has to be near perfect to beat and finish off someone of Poirier’s caliber, but that’s why he’s so eager for the UFC 291 rematch.

What is your prediction for this fight?
