Jonathan Di Bella and Prajanchai PK Saenchai will battle it out for the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing world title at ONE Friday Fights 68 on Friday afternoon.
The two stars were set to face each other earlier this year, but when the undefeated Di Bella fell ill and was unable to pass the hydration test, the fight was cancelled, and he was stripped of his world title.
ONE Friday Fights 68 kicks off at 3:30 PM Mecca. Fans in the MENA region can watch the show on watch.onefc.com.
As ONE Strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai aims to become a two-sport champion and Di Bella hopes to recapture the title, we look at four keys to victory in the highly anticipated kickboxing clash.
1. Di Bella’s Powerful Combinations
The Italian-Canadian star will be hoping to string his punches and kicks together in order to overwhelm the experienced Prajanchai’s defense.
Di Bella will need to use complex striking combinations targeting the Thai veteran with low and high kicks and punches.
2. Prajanchai’s Right Hand
A veteran of more than 400 bouts, Prajanchai has captured the biggest wins of his career with his trademark right hand punches.
The 29-year-old Thai may start the bout analyzing his competitor and looking for openings to use his right punch which will be an even dangerous weapon when he faces the southpaw in Di Bella.
3. Di Bella’s Right Hook
Di Bella possesses one of the most dangerous – and arguably the fastest – right hooks in the kickboxing world. The 27-year-old can land his lightning-fast punch in a variety of situations and will look to utilize this weapon on the counter or while attacking his Thai opponent.
4. Prajanchai’s Brutal Kicks
One of Prajanchai’s low kicks represents a very important weapon – and he is expected to target Di Bella’s lead leg whenever the latter advances.
The Thai star will use his low kicks to slow Di Bella’s forward movement and set up some dangerous attacking combos.
