Former ONE Bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker hopes to pick up his third win from three fights since switching to Muay Thai at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs Abdullaev.
Lineker will face Thai star Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in a bantamweight Muay Thai inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Nicknamed “Hands of Stone”, the Brazilian employed his huge punching power in Muay Thai on his debut in September at ONE 168, scoring a knockout victory against American striker Asa Ten Pow.
The 34-year-old Brazilian followed up his debut win with a first-round knockout of Russia’s Alexey Balyko at ONE Fight Night 25 in October.
On the other hand, Kulabdam wants to keep his momentum going after recovering from two losses with a third-round knockout of compatriot Suablack Tor Pran. The 26-year-old Thai had been on a three-win-streak before losing to Algeria’s rising star Nabil Anane and former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama.
And while the Thai also hopes to improve his 8-5 promotional record, both men will look to seal their entrance into the top-five bantamweight Muay Thai ranking.
ONE Fight Night 27 kicks off at 4:00 AM Mecca on Saturday, January 11 and will be broadcast beIN SPORTS.
