Johan Estupinan vs Johan Ghazali in Clash of Two of the Best Young Muay Thai Stars in the World
Two of the best young Muay Thai stars in the world are set to collide at ONE Championship’s show ONE 170 on Friday, January 24.
Malaysian-American star Johan Ghazali faces his undefeated Colombian counterpart Johan Estupinan in a pivotal flyweight Muay Thai contest at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ghazali, who is an attacking-minded brawler and often hailed as the next Rodtang Jitmuangnon, holds a 6-1 ONE record with five stoppages. He quickly rebounded from his only loss to veteran Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, most recently scoring a dominant first-round knockout win over Mexico’s Josue Cruz in September at ONE 168.
However, the 18-year-old faces the most difficult test of his career. Estupinan, who owns a high-flying, acrobatic striking style, holds a clean 26-0 professional record.
The 22-year-old Colombian has enjoyed a meteoric rise in ONE Championship, winning all four of his fights, three of which came via knockouts. Most recently, Estupinan knocked out Morocco’s Zakaria El Jamari after wins against Sean Climaco, Zafer Sayik, and Kouta Omori.
