Islam Makhachev gives Charles Oliveira no chance in rematch

Islam Makhachev is sure of it, Charles Oliveira has no chance against him and is waiting for him.

Charles Oliveria did not miss his return to the Octagon in early June, at UFC 289. Indeed, the latter beat Beneil Dariush very well, by TKO in the first round of their fight. Both fighters wanted to position themselves for a shot at the lightweight title, and that’s what ‘Do Bronx’ managed to do.

Oliveira lost to reigning champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 280, and now the Brazilian is out to get him. The UFC, for its part, is not against organizing a rematch, but wants to temporize a little while waiting for the fight between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier at UFC 291.

Islam Makhachev, in an interview, talked about a possible rematch against Charles Oliveira and appears very sure of himself (via bjpenn):

“I can’t say yet if my next fight will be a rematch against Charles. We have to wait. Now Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier are going to fight and the UFC will decide… If Oliveira doesn’t fight me now, everyone will say I’m avoiding him. I never choose my opponents, I will fight anyone the UFC gives me. I don’t think he can do anything in a rematch, I’m not scared of his grappling like the rest of the fighters, I can knock him down anytime. »

In the meantime, Islam Makhachev’s coach has revealed that he would like a rematch against the Brazilian. But for now, it’s too early to tell.
