“Is the Signing of a Cage Warriors Star by UFC a Hint at Future Recruitment from Less-Developed Countries?”

After years of anticipation, a star from Cage Warriors has finally signed with the largest MMA organization, UFC.

Securing a contract with UFC has become increasingly challenging. Dana White’s organization seems to have tightened its selection criteria. The determined fighter has been doing everything in his power to sign with the biggest MMA organization without receiving any calls from UFC. His dream was realized yesterday when a fight featuring him was announced.

UFC Signs Talents

Signing with UFC is no easy feat. The “easiest” route is to participate in the Dana White Contender Series, which Matthieu Letho Duclos will be able to do on August 27. However, it’s also possible to sign on short notice if a fighter drops out of an event.

This is what Cage Warriors star Jordan Fucinich managed to do.

Not widely known to French audiences, Jordan Fucinich emerged on the scene in 2021. He became the Featherweight Champion of Cage Warriors by defeating Morgan Charrière via split decision on March 20, 2021. With a record of 13 wins and 2 losses, Fucinich has only lost once in his ten Cage Warriors bouts, and that was against one of the top up-and-coming British mixed martial artists. He will fight on the August 3 card in Abu Dhabi against Giorgi Kutiateldze.

What do you think of this signing?
