Tom Aspinall is wading into the debate on Francis Ngannou’s chances against the world’s top heavyweight boxers.
Francis Ngannou has signed for the PFL and yet he will not fight MMA before 2024. It was announced from the start, he should make his boxing debut in 2023, rather towards the end of the year. And he wants to face the best of the best, even if his manager doesn’t really think so.
With his power and his physique, the ‘Predator’ has a great notoriety and interests some of the greatest heavyweight boxers on the planet, such as Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua (even if the latter would ultimately not be so interested…) or Deontay Wilder again.
And Tom Aspinall, precisely, thinks that Francis Ngannou would have a good chance of winning against Wilder, here is why:
“I would love to see him against Wilder, because they’re two massive fuckin’ guys who can punch holes in walls. It’s ridiculous. I would love to see that. If there’s anyone he can beat, it’s Wilder. Because Wilder is… and I don’t mean to denigrate him, because he’s one of the greatest punchers of all time. But when it comes to his boxing abilities, his level is way below that of a Usyk or a Tyson Fury or anybody else. »
“The punching power of this guy is out of the ordinary, absolutely ridiculous, out of the ordinary. But I think he’s pretty easy to hit and his combat IQ doesn’t seem to be very good. I think if one of them can be beaten by Ngannou, it’s Wilder. »
For now, there is still nothing official on the side of Francis Ngannou for a boxing fight, but it continues to heat up on social networks with Tyson Fury.
