Gordon Ryan has been referred to as one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and it seems Georges St-Pierre would be among those who would agree with him.
The duo of elite Jiu-Jitsu athletes were recently training with the rest of the crew at New Wave Jiu-Jitsu in Austin, Texas as several of them began preparing for the 2022 ADCC World Championships.
Ryan is sure to return stronger to compete in the Over 99kg class as well as a superhero fight against reigning champ Andre Galvão and needs all the preparation he can get as a result.
Ryan isn’t alone though as ADCC North American East Coast trials winner Giancarlo Bodoni also trains under John Danaher and he will be eager to make a big impact in the 88kg division. Nicholas Meregali will be competing in his first major no gi tournament at the prestigious event and he’s been working hard alongside Ryan to get ready for one of the biggest opportunities of his career.
This isn’t the first time that Gordon Ryan and Georges St-Pierre have trained together of course, because St-Pierre spent a large portion of his career under the guidance of Danaher. It shouldn’t be too surprising to hear the words that St-Pierre has for him:
