Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, shared his opinion on the upcoming fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic to headline UFC 295 on Nov. 11 in New York City.
While Francis Ngannou refines his preparation for his Saturday fight against Tyson Fury in boxing (he revealed how Mike Tyson in his corner will be an advantage), he is not giving up on MMA. Yesterday he gave an indication of when he was going to return to a cage and today he is talking about UFC 295.
And during this event, Jon Jones will defend his heavyweight belt for the first time and it will be against Stipe Miocic. This fight could well mean retirement for one or the other of the fighters, or even both, even if the latter have so far pretty much denied it.
If Jon Jones is the favorite and Miocic the underdog, Francis Ngannou was keen to give his prediction for this fight, and for him, we should not bury Stipe Miocic too quickly, despite the betting odds (via Shakiel Mahjouri/CBS Sports ):
“I choose Stipe. Stylistically, Stipe. I’ve fought Stipe twice and I feel like he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Obviously I won the second time, but I still know I could have lost that fight. I know how good he is as a fighter, I mean he fought DC three times and you can see how he fought. »
“It’s also a different weight class for Jon Jones. It’s at heavyweight, and I think it’s slightly different from light heavyweight. How good is Jon? He is the best at light heavyweight. But I think that at heavyweight, he will definitely have a challenge against Miocic!“
